Crown Reduction and Shaping
Crown reduction pruning is most often used when a tree has grown too large for its permitted space. This method of pruning results in a more natural appearance to the tree and increases the time before pruning is needed again. It also minimizes the stress caused to the tree. Crown reduction can be used to reduce wind resistance and inproves the trees uptake of water.
Crown Thining
Crown thinning is a method of pruning that is used primarily on hardwood trees. By selectively removeing stems and branches light penetration is improved and so is the air movement throughout the crown of a tree. The intent is to improve a tree's structure and form while making life uncomfortable for tree pests.
Crown Lifting
Crown lifting is the removal of selected branches and limbs from the lower part of the trees crown. This lifts the crowns overall height. and is often done to ensure vehicles and people can pass safely underneath. This process can also assists in allowing more light to penetrate through the lower crown.
